What In Focus Psychology offers
We offer person-centred therapy that is respectful, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. Our work is grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life, and therapy works best when it feels safe, supportive, and attuned to your unique experiences.
We draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, depending on your needs, goals, and preferences. These include:
Person-Centred Therapy
At the core of my practice is a person-centred approach. This means providing a non-judgemental, empathetic space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we explore your experiences at your own pace, supporting self-awareness, insight, and personal growth.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT supports you to develop psychological flexibility by learning to respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings. Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT helps you build skills to live in line with your values, even when things feel hard.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. This approach can be helpful in identifying unhelpful patterns and developing practical strategies to manage challenges such as anxiety, low mood, stress, and life transitions.
Reminiscence Therapy
Reminiscence Therapy centres on gently revisiting meaningful memories and past experiences through guided reflection, often using prompts such as photographs, music, or personal stories. This approach can support emotional wellbeing, strengthen identity, and foster a sense of continuity. It is frequently used with older adults, including those living with dementia, and can help enhance mood, encourage social connection, and reinforce a sense of purpose.
I work collaboratively, integrating these approaches in a way that feels natural and responsive, rather than rigid or prescriptive. My aim is to support you to better understand yourself, build resilience, and move towards a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
Fees:
Sessions are 50 minutes in length and are currently delivered via Telehealth (video).
If you are using Medicare, a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral from a GP is required. Medicare rebates are subject to eligibility criteria and annual session limits.
Full Fee
For non-concession card holders, the fee is $220 per session. Medicare-eligible clients may receive a rebate of up to $98.97 per session.
Concession Fee
Eligible concession card holders with available Medicare sessions will be bulk billed, with no upfront payment required. If no Medicare sessions remain, the concession fee is $100 per session.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made with 48 hours or more notice will not incur a fee.
If you cancel or reschedule between 24-48 hours’ notice, a fee of 50% of the full session cost will apply and must be paid before your next appointment. Please note, Medicare rebates do not apply to cancellation fees.
For cancellations or missed appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full session fee (100%) will be charged, as such short notice makes it difficult to offer the time to another client.
